A Popular New EV

Though it has become a long time coming, it seems that electric vehicles, or EVs, are starting to become a highly valued commodity in the public consciousness, as evidenced by the lightning-fast sellout of the new 2023 Subaru Solterra.

The result for Subaru has been a temporary close-down of their website’s reservation system for the new car. However, plenty of Solterras will become available in the upcoming year, so there is no need to fret if you feel you have missed the mark.

But, you may be wondering just what reason there is for the sudden buying frenzy of this new EV, especially if you have not been keeping up with the world of electric vehicles.

That is okay, because there are plenty of people out there who did not think much of EVs, or realize just how widespread they are becoming, before the multiple EV ads aired during the Super Bowl piqued their interest.

It is not just corporations, either, as the US government has announced an extensive plan to build a large network of charging stations that electric vehicle owners can use across the country.

A Closer Look At The 2023 Subaru Solterra

Like many other EVs, you can expect to pay at or around $40,000 for the Solterra, perhaps somewhere in the high 30’s.

One of the biggest reasons that the Solterra has gotten so much positive attention is that it promises to match certain features of standard fuel vehicles, such as a Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system that is widely found across fuel alternatives.

Though this All-Wheel Drive feature has been found in some hybrids, the Solterra is the first all-electric vehicle, as it has dual electric motors, to feature this level of AWD.

This is something that demonstrates how automakers seek to slowly but surely make electric vehicles general across the nation, which is by matching some well-loved features and capabilities of fuel cars in the electric models.

A Nature-Lover’s Dream Car

Another example of this is the traction and off-road capabilities of the Solterra, which makes it a viable option for EV drivers who want to take their cars off-road. Boasting 8.3 inches of ground clearance and short overhangs.

This is a car that outdoorsy types will love. There is a reason that Subaru named it the Sol-terra, as sol means “sun” and terra means “earth” in Latin.

Though it is fit for driving over rough terrain, the inside is rather comfortable, with models offering up to 126 cubic feet of passenger space that leaves you plenty of legroom.

Safe, eco-friendly, and technologically advanced (it offers a large touch-screen with traffic monitoring capabilities, assisted by 360 degree cameras.)
