Dec 15, 2022

Subaru’s latest addition to the Legacy line is the 2023 Subaru Legacy,  an AWD sedan that can reach up to 35 MPG. This new car will be sure to reward owners by offering many years of dependable and reliable driving.

Subaru vehicles have become preferred by people looking for a long-lasting vehicle, as 95% of Subaru vehicles purchased in the past 10 years are still on the road

Whether you are a parent looking for a long-haul vehicle that will transport your kids from the first day of elementary school through to high school graduation, or single and just starting out looking for a versatile sedan to embark on your life’s journey, you are sure to find exactly what you are looking for in the 2023 Subaru Legacy.

A Safer and More Fuel-Efficient Ride Thanks to a Classic Engine Design

The Base, Premium, and Limited trims come with a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, a Subaru Boxer engine that allows for the best fuel economy for AWD vehicles in the U.S.A. The Sport and Touring XT trims come with a 2.4-liter turbocharged Subaru Boxer 4-cylinder engine.

A boxer engine is flat, designed so because that allows for engine power to go directly to the transmission, requiring less work to power your vehicle and thus creating a more fuel-efficient ride.

The center of gravity of a boxer engine is lower, making the vehicle’s center of gravity lower as a result. This makes for more easy maneuvering overall, and ensures your vehicle is less likely to experience “body roll”, where a vehicle leans to one side when rounding a corner or making a sharp turn.

Fun Fact: It is called a “boxer” engine because of the horizontal movement of the pistons, which resemble the punches of a boxer. No wonder these engines are considered so powerful!

Outstanding Safety Features

What makes the 2023 Subaru Legacy such a viable candidate for a family sedan is that it is one of the safest sedans on the market.

A distraction mitigation system called DriverFocus utilizes facial recognition software to track the positioning of your eyes behind the onboard camera to find signs of fatigue or distraction. If your face is turned away from the road, an alert will pop up to help restore your focus.

Additionally, EyeSight Driver Assist will be your second set of eyes on the road, scanning through multiple cameras the road conditions to alert you to potential hazards. It also helps you optimize cruise control by maintaining a distance that you select between you and the vehicle in front of you.

Eyesight sends alerts when you stray from your lane and will employ pre-collision braking and throttling (reducing the engine’s power) that can save you from a fender bender.

Both the Eyesight and DriverFocus systems work in collaboration: If DriverFocus notices your attention is wandering, Eyesight becomes more likely to alert you.
