Introducing The New Crosstrek Sport

The all-new 2021 Crosstrek Sport pushes the up-for-anything Crosstrek spirit even further. A 2.5-liter direct-injection BOXER® engine is standard, and the exterior features unique design elements like the exclusive Plasma Yellow Pearl paint, aggressive grille, gunmetal finish exterior accents, and dark gray wheels. The cabin features adventure-ready water-repellent StarTex® upholstery with yellow contrast stitching and accent trim and is protected with floor mats made from recycled materials. In addition to Plasma Yellow Pearl, the new Sport is available in seven other exterior colors including Horizon Blue Pearl.

The new Crosstrek Sport is the only model to feature the dual-function X-MODE® with Hill Descent Control with SNOW/DIRT and DEEP SNOW/MUD selectable settings, allowing the driver to optimize AWD performance for difficult weather or road conditions.

New Features For 2021 On Every Crosstrek

The 2021 Crosstrek features an updated grille and front trim, accentuating its muscular stance. The available 18-inch machine finished wheels highlight the high-energy style that makes the Crosstrek a one-of-a-kind compact SUV – at home, on a mountain trail or in front of your favorite coffee shop.

But the big news is that the legendary 182-horsepower 2.5 Liter Subaru BOXER® engine is now available on the Base and Premium trim levels and offers a substantial performance boost over the 2.0-liter engine. The 2.5 Liter engine is now standard on the Limited and new Sport trim lines. The increased power makes your weekday highway driving more fun and gives you even more off-road performance for your weekend adventures.

The 2.5-liter 4-cylinder BOXER® engine produces 182 horsepower and 176 lb.-ft. of torque. The standard Lineartronic® CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) achieves EPA-estimated fuel economy of 27 city / 34 highway / 29 combined MPG. The 2021 Crosstrek Base and Premium trims continue to use the efficient and responsive 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that delivers 152-hp and 145 lb.-ft. of torque. Base and Premium trim levels with the 6-speed manual transmission are rated at 22 city / 29 highway / 25 combined MPG, while the CVT models achieve EPA-estimated fuel economy of 28 city / 33 highway / 30 combined MPG.

All CVT-equipped models — except the Base — feature an 8-speed manual mode function with steering wheel paddle shifters that let the driver control the transmission via eight pre-set ratios. The base model features a driver-selectable Low Shift Mode for more control when going down hills.

All Crosstrek models are equipped standard with Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and Active Torque Vectoring. All Wheel Drive is a feature that most other compact SUVs only offer as an extra-cost option. All Crosstrek trim levels are equipped with the CVT feature X-MODE with Hill Descent Control for enhanced performance in low-friction and off-road conditions. And Crosstrek has SI-DRIVE, a powertrain performance management system that allows the driver to tailor the vehicle’s throttle characteristics by choosing between fuel-saving “Intelligent” and performance “Sport” modes.

Crosstrek also comes with the Subaru suite of driver assist technologies including Pre-Collision Throttle Management; Automatic Pre-Collision Braking; Lane Departure Prevention; Lead Vehicle Start Alert; Auto Start-Stop; and SI-Drive. The Rear Seat Reminder helps remind you that a child or pet is in the backseat by alerting you to check the rear seat before you leave the vehicle.

Those Crosstrek models equipped with the Lineartronic CVT — whether standard or as an option — come with award-winning Subaru EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology. The EyeSight® system has been enhanced for 2021 with new Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering.

The 2021 Crosstrek is loaded with a long roster of standard features, including automatic climate control; SUBARU STARLINK™ 6.5-inch Multimedia system with touchscreen; multifunction display with fuel economy information; Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®; tilt and telescoping steering column; keyless entry with security system with engine immobilizer; power windows with auto up/auto down on both driver and passenger sides; power door locks and side mirrors; 60/40-split fold-down rear seat; and more. And the various trim levels include even more features.
